What Should I Put In My Message?
For weddings, send me your names, date and venue if you have them. Tell me a little about what you’re planning and I can let you know whether I’m available.
For a funeral, memorial or celebration of life, just tell me what you know so far and the best way to contact you.
No formal enquiry required.
Just say hello.
Funeral Celebrant in Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire
IF YOU’RE HERE BECAUSE SOMEONE CLOSE YOU HAS PASSED AWAY
You’re going through an enormous amount right now and you probably have enough decisions to make already.
Working out how to turn someone’s entire life into an appropriately toned funeral ceremony does not need to be another thing you have to figure out alone.
I work as a funeral celebrant in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, helping families create funeral ceremonies that reflect the person who has died rather than simply following a standard format.
We start by talking.
About them.
Who they were. What they were like. The people they loved. The things they did. The stories everyone knows. The things that made them laugh. Their habits, quirks and characteristics.
The big things matter. So do the little things.
Together we decide what should be included and how the ceremony should feel.
It might be traditional and reflective.
It might include plenty of music and stories.
There may be moments of humour alongside the sadness.
Family and friends can contribute, or I can take care of the words if speaking feels too difficult.
There is no requirement to make someone sound like a completely different person simply because we are at their funeral.
The aim is to recognise the person you actually knew.
I create funeral ceremonies across Hertfordshire, including St Albans, Hertford, Hitchin, Bishop’s Stortford, Watford, Harpenden and Welwyn Garden City, and work with families throughout Bedfordshire, including Bedford, Luton, Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard, Biggleswade, Ampthill, Woburn and Flitwick.
Meet Claire | Your Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire Celebrant
BEFORE YOU MESSAGE A COMPLETE STRANGER...
A little about the person who might be standing at the front of your ceremony.
I’m Claire, a professional, experienced celebrant working across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and North London.
I create ceremonies for both weddings and funerals, which might seem like two very different sides of celebrancy.
And they are.
But both require the same thing at the beginning.
Listening properly.
With weddings, I want to find the stories that tell me who you are as a couple rather than simply collecting dates and facts.
With funerals, I want to understand the person behind the formal information. The stories, personality and details that make family members immediately say, “Yes. That was them.”
I don’t think you need a celebrant who can appeal to absolutely everybody.
You need one you feel comfortable talking to.
Particularly when you’re going to tell them some fairly personal stories.
So have a look around the website, read a few reviews and find out a little more about me.
If you think we might be a good fit, get in touch.
MORE ABOUT ME
Kind words
Not Quite Sure What You Need?
That’s fine too.
You might know you want a celebrant led wedding but have no idea what that actually involves.
You might be arranging a funeral for the first time and wondering what a celebrant does.
Perhaps you have chosen direct cremation and now want to organise a separate memorial.
Maybe you know you want to bring everyone together for a celebration of life but haven’t decided where, when or what it should include.
You do not need to work all of that out before contacting me.
Tell me what is happening.
I’ll tell you how I can help.
