My Journey to Becoming a Celebrant

My Journey to Becoming a Celebrant

I have worked in further education for over 20 years, which I truly love. My path to celebrancy began in 2023 when I was diagnosed with cancer. Going through months of treatment made me face my own mortality and during my recovery, I found myself wanting to do something even more meaningful with my life.

I became fascinated by celebrancy and the beautiful ways ceremonies can mark life's important transitions. I'm proud to have trained with the Academy of Modern Celebrancy, which has given me an excellent foundation to be the best celebrant I can be.

This training has opened my eyes to the incredible range of choices people have for their ceremonies and the wonderful elements that can be included to make them truly special.

My Approach to Ceremonies

My Approach to Ceremonies

I bring warmth, genuine care, and a calm presence to every ceremony I create. I take time to truly understand each person's story, and I'll tell that story through a thoughtfully crafted ceremony that feels authentic and meaningful.

I'm passionate about creating ceremonies that are

  • Personalised - reflecting your unique personality, beliefs, and style
  • Inclusive - welcoming to everyone, regardless of background or belief
  • Memorable - creating moments that stay with you long after the day
  • Stress-free - I'll guide you through the process with care and organisation.

When I spoke to family and friends about becoming a celebrant, nearly everyone had a story about attending a wedding or funeral where they were disappointed with the service. That's why I'm committed to creating ceremonies that are bespoke and personalised, capturing the essence of the people involved.

I want people to leave my ceremonies with their hearts full!

A Bit More About Me

I'm married to David and have a step-daughter, Liberty and two sons, Toby and Will. Family is incredibly important to me, and I have a large circle of friends that I cherish.

I believe in the power of human connection and the importance of marking life's significant moments in meaningful ways. That's why I love being a celebrant – I get to help people celebrate the most important days of their lives in ways that truly reflect who they are.

What better job could there be than telling people's love stories and life stories, and celebrating with family and friends?
