General Questions

 General Questions
What is a celebrant?

A celebrant is a professional ceremony creator and officiant who crafts and conducts personalised ceremonies for important life events such as weddings, funerals, and namings. Unlike registrars or religious officials, celebrants aren't bound by legal or religious requirements, giving you complete freedom to create a ceremony that truly reflects you.

Wedding Ceremony Questions

Wedding Ceremony Questions
Are celebrant weddings legally binding?

In England and Wales, celebrant-led ceremonies are not legally binding on their own. Most couples complete the legal formalities separately at a register office (which can be done for as little as £50-£100) and then have their personalised celebrant-led ceremony on their chosen day, at their chosen venue.

Funeral and Celebration of Life Questions
What's the difference between a funeral celebrant and a minister?

A minister conducts religious funeral services following their faith's traditions and liturgy. As a funeral celebrant, I create completely personalised ceremonies that can be religious, non-religious, or somewhere in between, focusing on celebrating the unique life and personality of the person who has died.

Naming Ceremony Questions

Naming Ceremony Questions
At what age should we have a naming ceremony?

There's no right or wrong age. Some families choose to have a naming ceremony when their baby is a few months old, similar to a traditional christening. Others wait until their child is a toddler or older. Naming ceremonies are also perfect for celebrating adoptions or blending families, regardless of the child's age.
